The Berber Yaz and SouthWestern American Petroglyphs

My photograph of petroglyph at Sloan Canyon in Nevada
with character similar to the Berber Yaz (in the middle of the dark rock)

.

 From Wikipedia:
The yaz symbolizes the "free man", which is the meaning of the Berber word amazigh, the Berbers' own name for themselves. It is in red, the colour of life, and also the colour of resistance.
The Berber flag thus symbolizes the entire Amazigh people, living in harmony with their land, Tamazgha.

The Berbers of North Africa are an ancient African Caucasoid people.  I believe they are related to the Cronide bloodline and the ancient Atlantians.  Specifically, the blood of Cronus' brother Iapetus and his descendants.  The Atlas mountains in North Africa that stretch across the countries of Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia were named after Iapetus' son, Atlas, who was the brother of Prometheus.

The women of the Berbers wear a wedding headdress similar to the Lady of Baza's headgear.

I believe Iapetus, his son Atlas, and others were murdered by Cronus and his followers after there were suspicions were raised about their activities.  Those that follow my radio show, will understand further.

These people have had to endure attack after attack.  First the Spanish attacked the Berber Guanches and then the Muslims came in.  From Wikipedia:

After the Muslim conquest, the Berber tribes of coastal North Africa became almost fully Islamized. Besides the Arab influence, North African population also saw an influx via the Barbary Slave Trade of European peoples, with some estimates placing the number of European slaves brought to North Africa during the Ottoman period as high as 1.25 million.[29] Interactions with neighboring Sudanic empires, traders, and nomads from other parts of Africa also left impressions upon the Berber people.

The Berbers have mixed with the Arabs and Black Africans but many still remain tribal.

The Berber people are still under attack.  From Wikipedia:

Political tensions have arisen between some Berber groups (especially the Kabyle) and North African governments over the past few decades, partly over linguistic and cultural issues; for instance, in Libya and Morocco, giving children Berber names was banned. The regime of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya also banned the teaching of Berber languages, and the dictator warned Berber leaders in a 2008 diplomatic cable leaked by WikiLeaks "You can call yourselves whatever you want inside your homes – Berbers, Children of Satan, whatever – but you are only Libyans when you leave your homes."[49] As a result of the persecution suffered under Gaddafi's rule, many Berbers joined the Libyan opposition in the 2011 Libyan civil war.

Further from Wikipedia:

The Berber languages form a branch of Afro-Asiatic, and thus descend from the proto-Afro-Asiatic language. It is still disputed which branches of Afro-Asiatic are most closely related to Berber, but most linguists accept at least either Semitic or Chadic as among its closest relatives within the family (see Afro-Asiatic languages.)

The story of Iapetus is as follows:

Iapetus ("the Piercer") is the one Titan mentioned by Homer in the Iliad (8.478–81) as being in Tartarus with Cronus. He is a brother of Cronus, who ruled the world during the Golden Age. His name derives from the word iapto ("wound, pierce") and usually refers to a spear, implying that Iapetus may have been regarded as a god of craftsmanship, though scholars mostly describe him as the god of mortality.
Iapetus' wife is normally a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys named Clymene or Asia.
In Hesiod's Works and Days Prometheus is addressed as "son of Iapetus", and no mother is named. However, in Hesiod's Theogony, Clymene is listed as Iapetus' wife and the mother of Prometheus. In Aeschylus's play Prometheus Bound, Prometheus is son of the goddess Themis with no father named (but still with at least Atlas as a brother). However, in Horace's Odes, in Ode 1.3 Horace describes how "audax Iapeti genus/ Ignem fraude mala gentibus intulit"; "The bold offspring of Iapetus [i.e. Prometheus]/ brought fire to peoples by wicked deceit".
Iapetus has (for example, by Robert Graves)[2] been equated with Japheth (יֶפֶת), the son of Noah, based on the similarity of their names and on old Jewish traditions, that held Japheth as the ancestor of the Greeks, the Slavs, the Italics, the Teutons, the Dravidians etc. (see Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews). Iapetus was linked to Japheth by 17th-century theologian Matthew Poole[3] and more recently by John Pairman Brown.[4] Similarly, Ham, son of Noah, was equated with "Jupiter Ammon", i.e. the Egyptian god Amun.[5][6]

In Greek mythology, Iapetus /ˈæpɪtəs/,[1] also Iapetos or Japetus (Ancient Greek: Ἰαπετός), was a Titan, the son of Uranus and Gaia, and father (by an Oceanid named Clymene or Asia) of Atlas, Prometheus, Epimetheus, and Menoetius
Atlas and his brother Menoetius sided with the Titans in their war against the Olympians, the Titanomachy. When the Titans were defeated, many of them (including Menoetius) were confined to Tartarus, but Zeus condemned Atlas to stand at the western edge of Gaia (the Earth) and hold up Uranus on his shoulders, to prevent the two from resuming their primordial embrace. Thus, he was Atlas Telamon, "enduring Atlas," and became a doublet of Coeus, the embodiment of the celestial axis around which the heavens revolve.[9]

Iapetus and his sons were killed by Cronus and his sons in my opinion.  The Berbers also have face tattoos that are very similar to ancient American Southwestern petroglyphs.

Petroglyphs from Valley of Fire and Sloan Canyon

I saw pictures of what appear to be Phoenician ships in the petroglyphs at Valley of Fire.  There were two of them.  I saw a slab with petroglyphs of feet. One had 6 digits.  The rest were from children and probably a female adult (they were smaller) with 5 digits.  I saw Petroglyphs of the animals of the region (long horn sheep, centipedes, scorpions, snakes, tortoises, and humans) and many sun spirals.  Here they are:

There appears to be a ship in this one:

Here is another one with a larger ship with a dragon's head.  I have several shots of this one.  Notice the crab?  It could represent the Cancer constellation and the month of the summer solstice.

Compare the ship petroglyphs to this:

Sun spiral or fossil?

Some sort of counting.  Perhaps the number of days they spent at Valley of Fire.

This one was huge.  It has several foot prints in it.  One has 6 digits.  Other's are smaller like children's feet with 5 digits.  There is either a bull or goat by the large foot as well.  This can either be the Taurus or Capricorn constellation or the months of May or December.

The people that made these petroglyphs are now referred to as the Gypsum people.

I noticed in this display of what the desert was in the past (under the ocean) and saw some objects that looked very similar to the sun spiral petroglyphs.  Look at the top of the bluish objects in the sand.  Were these ancient people drawing the fossils they found?

Desert Varnish occurs when iron and manganese present in the rock interacts with living life forms such as algae or fungi.  This is what makes the rock have a black finish on it.

Holding hands and having some fun.

Now for the most interesting find at Sloan Canyon which is about an hour south of Valley of Fire.  I found what appears to be Phoenician letters.

I believe these letters stand for the Phoenician letters (bet, gaml, tet, and wau).  These letters, based on some simple comparisons to Phoenician letter meanings in Wikipedia, may be telling us the following words:  House, Camel, Wheel, and Hook.  My interpretations may be incorrect, but I have to wonder if they are telling us that when they came here about 4,000 years ago, they came from their home that had camels via a sea wheel and that they used hooks because they were fishermen and travelers of the waters.  My research continues on this subject as the story of red-haired giants in Nevada go back to the Pauite people and seem to match up well with the hypothesis that visitors from ancient Phoenicia came to America some 4000 years ago and probably earlier.  The arrowheads per the time of these people shown in the Valley of Fire visitor center match the arrowhead design of the Clovis and Solutrean (European) people.

Here are a few more petroglyphs from Sloan Canyon:

I'll be writing more about these petroglyphs in time.  Enjoy for now and imagine the people who travelled through this hot area 4000 years ago and that they were telling you who they were and what they saw in the desert at that time.

Alan at Ancient Art Reproductions

I stopped by a craft show this Labor Day weekend and had a conversation with Alan W. Barbick from Ancient Art Reproductions.  Alan specializes in reproducing petroglyphs as art.  He travels all over the Southwest of America and other places to take pictures of petroglyphs and learn about their meaning from local tribes if the knowledge is available.

We had an interesting conversation regarding some of the symbols that are shown in petroglyphs from the Americas.  Of particular interest to me was the use of the spiral and horned shaman.  But another interesting petroglyph was that of a hand with an eye from Cahokia.   This is a symbol that is common in the Middle East and North Africa, and is known as the Hand of Fatima, Hand or Mary, Hand of Miriam (the sister of Moses), or the Hamsa.

Many of these symbols such as the horned man, the spiral, the sun needle, and more are not only ancient but globally found just like the swastika.  Please feel free to look at Alan's website:

The eye in the hand motif is a common symbol throughout Mississippian culture.  Here is an artifact from Moundville (in Alabama):
