Mohs Scale

Mohs Scale is used to determne the hardness of a rock or stone.  It measures the scratch resistance of a rock/stone by looking to see if other rocks/stones can scratch the rock/stone in question.  The scale goes from 1 to 10 with 1 the least hard to 10, the most hard.  A diamond has a Mohs Scale value of 10 and talc has a value of 1.
