Hidden Human Story Radio

Hey folks.  I'm going to move in a different direction and try my hand at radio on blogtalk.  The show will focus on mythology, ancient writings, anthropology, and the hidden human story.  Some of the material may not be appropriate for children.  I'll see how long it goes and if I'm any good at it.  So tune in.

Thoughts on the Last 3 Years of The Library Kids Adventure

This guy was helping me at the Little Boots Rodeo, today.  People had mixed reactions to him.  They either wanted to hug, touch, or punch him.

In any event, I thought about the last 3 years of my journey with The Library Kids.  I've learned a lot over the last 3 years about self-publishing and my audience.  I've dug deeper into mythology and history because of this series.  I've met some of the most brightest and most intelligent children around.  I could see glimmers of curiosity in their eyes when I told them about the series.  Even the parents were interested.  The people I've been able to share my series with have been shining gems in the world.  I hope I continue to have new readers because there is a story behind the story in my series.

The idea for The Library Kids came to me when I took my family to visit a cave in Texas.  From there, my life long interest in mythology and anthropology combined with the magic of this cave and all caves.  The Library Kids was developed over several years and I've worked very hard to get it to the public over the last 3 years.  I had high hopes for The Library Kids and I still do.

At this time, I will work on book # 8 as spirit moves me, but I am now strategizing about a new direction for myself and my research and writing.  If you want to stay abreast of the series, sign up for the email list at the website, www.thelibrarykids.com.  Thank you and thank you to all of The Library Kids fans.

Svengoolie and Rita Jean Moran at Little Boots Rodeo

The weather was all over the board, today. Luckily the rain stopped in the morning. That's Chicago weather for you. Look at who I met at the Little Boots Rodeo:

I just love this guy.  I used to watch him all the time on TV, years ago.

Bloodlines and Star Maps

by Rita Jean Moran (www.thelibrarykids.com)

Look up at the Stars and Sky

I used a free program called Stellarium to see what the skies looked like between 16,000 and 17,000 years ago.  Here is what I have and I will compare it to a cave drawing.  I call it my Red Horn Star Map:

I believe my star maps are close matches to the main points in the Red Horn cave panel from Picture Cave, Missouri.

This series is aimed at a more mature audience; however, watch for my youtube videos that will go in depth regarding the ancient texts and mythologies.  Book 8 of The Library Kids is in progress, but may not be out for awhile.  Stay tuned.
